Saoirse Una Ronan (born 12 April 1994) is a New York-born Irish film actress. She first rose to prominence at age 13 when she was cast as Briony Tallis in Joe Wright's Atonement (2007), making her one of the youngest actresses to ever receive an Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nomination. In 2009, she played the lead role in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, garnering her a second BAFTA nomination, and later took on the titular role in the film Hanna (2011). She has since appeared in The Way Back, Byzantium, The Host, How I Live Now, and most recently, Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.
